Chevra Kadisha

Congregation Shaaray Tefila’s Chevra Kadisha is a group of Jewish men and women who see to it that the bodies of deceased Jews are prepared for burial according to Jewish tradition and watched over and protected from desecration until burial.  In addition, the Chevra Kadisha performs the ritual cleansing of the body and subsequent dressing for burial.  These tasks are laudable, because tending to someone who has died is a favor that cannot be returned.

While there have been many dozen men and women members who have quietly served on the Chevra Kadisha, the following list identifies the person in charge during the past 40+ years.
